So I've been in New England for 9 months. I was told the other night my accent has faded. Although one person said they dotn want me to lose it, they like it . Eh....you can decide if that is good or bad. I HATE adapting to the way people talk up here. I choice not to conform to a few choice words. I will for ever say fixin. And when I shopping I will push a buggy. My boyfriend laughs then says its a carriage. But I kindly remind him that a carriage and a buggy are the same thing. Although I am proud to be southern I do hate the word y'all. I make it a point to not use that word. I don't have that strong of an accent so it doesn't take long for me to lose the bulk of it. I have always followed suit to my surroundings. There are a few words you can hear the accent in but not much.
The pros or possibly the cons of having my name.
